PECO History

PECO - Established 1966

With the foundation of PECO SPORT in 1966, the successful sportsman Peter Cohrs fulfilled a dream and turned his hobby into a profession.

In the beginning, table tennis products were sold out of his apartment in Hamburg-Winterhude. In 1970, Peter Cohrs opened a small store in Hamburg Barmbek. Soon the premises became too small, and in 1974 the company moved to the Schanzenviertel, where PECO was then located for 48 years.
Peco's range of products expanded from table tennis to tennis and fitness products and, from 1977, field hockey equipment.

By importing high-quality field hockey sticks and goalkeeper articles from India, PECO quickly became known throughout Germany and later Europe. PECO goalkeeper sticks and gloves were played by many Bundesliga goalkeepers. 

In 1998 Germany's first online field hockey store went live with peco.de, since then Peco has made over 20,000 customers happy with products from all leading manufacturers.
In 2021, founder Peter Cohrs handed over his company to the next generation, which has already been successful in field hockey wholesale for 30 years.
"If you're going to go for it, go for it!" they thought, invested and moved to Hamburg Winterhude with a new store for field hockey, padel and fitness - where everything started in 1966.

After more than 5 months of construction, an industrial-look store was opened in August 2022 on over 250 m2 of retail space with Polytan field hockey playing surface, bar and Chesterfield furniture, where a unique shopping experience is now offered. 
The online store has been completely redesigned and the storage areas expanded, so that online customers are also offered perfect shopping.
